Pros and cons of Fore by Cobra Mobile app for iPhone and iPad

Fore by Cobra Mobile app good for

After a few minutes of playing Fore, I could tell that this was a great game, and its dead simple. Pick your club, pull your finger back, and slide it forward to swing. Tilting your device adds a little english to the ball. The graphics are pretty darn awesome as well. I havent tried 2 player mode yet (either pass-and-play or peer to peer), but I would assume that it would be pretty fun. So is it worth the $3.99? Absolutely.
Forget Tiger Woods! You want to have fun playing golf, then plunk down your coin and holler "Fore"!! Cobra Mobile does golf right!!!
Very fun and challenging golf game. Could use some different looking courses, control tweaks and online but overall very cool game. I have tiger and lets golf and I prefer the challenge of this to both of them. 5 stars if they add some to it
A very well done golf game. I like the in the air ball control feature (called Aftertouch) it adds a unique element to the game. You of course can turn this off so it acts more realistically. Everything from the tutorial, graphics, control, smoothness and game play is excellent. Definitely a 5 star release.

Some bad moments

NEEDS ONLINE PLAY.....pretty boring to play by yourself. Also, have the option to turn off Tilt To Curve......I like playing in bed laying down.
This offers a new twist on iPhone golf and while it looks pretty, the game play isnt terribly satisfying. For longer drives there is no way to keep your intermediate target landing zone in sight so your drives involve an element of luck. There is some compensation available via tilting the phone while the ball us in flight but Id still rather have a way to set and see an intermediate target other than an arrow pointing to the hole 600 yards away. Zoom offers exactly two different levels of magnification on the hole with neither providing a clear view of the entire hole. This just adds to the disorientation and frustration of charting a course through the hole. The putting is pretty weak too. No variation of grade on the green and most putts are easily made. So its a slightly interesting take on iPhone golf but its ultimately unsatisfying. Not worth more than $2 IMO.
Eh the gameplay is sort of an amusing gimmick but quickly lost my appeal after a few rounds. Putting is horribly inaccuraye and as previously stated not being able to see the entire hole almost makes it a game of luck. Would say its only worth 99c but there are 3 gorgeously detailed courses and a full selection of clubs so even though the gameplay itself isnt worth 1.99 with all the included content that might be a justifiable price for this app. But definately not 4.99 like what I payed for it...
The game simply will not work for me. May not be the same for you, but I just wasted my money. Will rereview should a future update solve this problem.
Beautiful looking game, but it can be pretty frustrating to play. Getting a consistent swipe to swing near full power is nearly impossible as youre also trying to aim the ball down the fairway. What makes it even more difficult is that there is no way to really know if youre aiming in the right direction. Like others have said, the putting seems a bit like an afterthought. I think this game is close to being a very good game. With some improvement on the controls, putting, and being able to have more confidence in aiming, playing a round of golf could be really compelling. As it stands right now, its more of a nice looking dissapointment. Bummer.
The controls are awful. I dont say that about many games. They are just not good. The same motion seemed to produce great results one time and disasterous results the next. In golf, each shot counts, so you cant afford to have the controls go haywire on you. Every once in a while, the ball would even go backward for no reason. The game looks great, but its not well done. Needs a revamped control scheme big time. Bummer, because I usually like Cobra Mobile games and was excited about this one.
